| Bio: | It is doubtless telling that I had my LJ for nearly three years before sitting down to write a bio. That was way back in August 2005, for the record.
My journal says more about me than anything I could write here. Or at least it used to ... these days, it mostly says that I don't update my LJ much anymore. (But that's telling in itself, wouldn't you say?)
Here's the brief run-down: I love to cook but hate washing dishes; love my garden but hate weeding; love visitors but go quite mad if I don't have enough time alone. I will go without food to buy books, but resent spending money on clothes. I get unreasonably excited about buying FairTrade products, especially my (sadly deceased, and much mourned) Code Pink high-tops.
I'm the doting parent of JB (who just keeps on getting older and taller and more competent), the rather less doting owner of Oscar (a sweet though rowdy mutt, who is slowly becoming more civilised), and the keeper of a small flock of backyard hens.
I've been homeschooling JB since May 2007. So far, so good. More accurately, so far, so much better than the alternative. He's happier, I'm happier, we don't have to be out of the house at the crack of dawn, and we get to spend a lot more time at the beach. What's not to like?
